Alessandra De Rossi reacts on surging COVID-19 cases: “Ano, ABS-CBN parin ang issue?”

Actress Alessandra De Rossi couldn’t hide her disappointment anymore to the priorities of some lawmakers.

In a tweet, De Rossi who shared a report from GMA News about the surging cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines made a sarcastic remark to the people prioritizing the ABS-CBN franchise issue.

According to her, many people were already suffering due to the pandemic.

“It kills my soul. 2k cases, 2 days straight. Sige, let’s focus on abs cbn pa. Let’s talk about anything that’s used a smokescreen to mask the reality! We are not winning. People are hungry, sick, and dying, and they need to risk their Iives for food. Ano, ABSCBN parin ang issue?” De Rossi said.

The actress clarified that she’s not angry and only hurt after seeing the priorities of the government.

“Di ako galit. Nasasaktan ako. Wala. Akong magawa to make anything better, but to pray na tulungan natin ang isa’t isa. Let’s focus on this pandemic. Ito ang problema natin. Saka na yung iba. May oras para dyan. Pero ang buhay ng tao pag natapos, di mo na mababalik yun,” she said.

De Rossi then defended herself from a critic, saying that the government should not add more problems but shutting down a network that could give jobs to the people amid the pandemic.

“Wala rin akong work for 100+ days. And no help from anyone. The whole world is suffering, yes. Wag na natin dagdagan.. Kung meron may chance na magwork bec they can or have to, to help people who depend on them, bakit hindi? Makatulong muna sa ibang walang magawa for themselves,” she stated.

As of writing, there are already 46,333 positive cases of COVID-19 in the country.

ABS-CBN is currently facing issues after NTC decided to close down their station.

The Kapamilya network was accused of violating labor laws and also evading taxes.
