Senator Christopher “Bong” Go told his followers that like President Rodrigo Duterte, he refused to throw a lavish party as a way to celebrate his birthday.
In a Facebook post, it showed Go eating a simple lunch during his 46th birthday, saying that his former boss also refused to celebrate his birthday.
On March 28, Duterte celebrated his birthday alone amid the community quarantine being implemented in the country.
He also cited other reasons why he refused to remember his birthday:
1st) Di po ako cecelebrate tuwing birthday, di nga nag Cecelebrate si Tatay digong, sino ba naman ako at mas lalo na di ako nagcecelebrate sa mga nakaraang mga 4 na dekada.
2nd) Ayaw ko bilangin ilan taon na ako.
3rd) sa mga nagkakamaling bumati ng happy father’s day, baka nalilito kayo sa dami ng anak nyo. next sunday pa.
4th) Ang paboritong tshirt na suot ko 10 years ago pa ito.
Go received thousands of birthday greetings on social media from his friends and fans.

The senator authored the Malasakit Center Act giving one-stop access to medical and financial assistance.
He also proposed the Balik Probinsiya program to help decongest Metro Manila.
