In a statement, Pacquiao questioned how the letter sent by Hwang reached the media first before him.

He also asked why Hwang didn’t choose to call him to ask him about his photo together with Senator Pimentel and other PDP-Laban members that circulated on social media.

“Ang ipinagtataka ko lang po ay kung bakit kumalat agad ang kanyang sulat sa social media na hindi niya man lang ako tinawagan upang alamin kung ano ang katotohanan sa naging viral na picture namin ni Sen. Koko Pimentel. Ang naganap po noong March 4 (hindi po March 10 tulad ng napabalita) ay isang political meeting ng PDP Laban at hindi “partying”,” Pacquiao said.

According to the Senator, he’s letting the proper agencies to investigate the incident which he described as against his right to privacy.

“I will refer this matter to the appropriate agency for proper investigation to avoid the same incident from happening,” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao also told Hwang that calling the PDP-Laban meeting as a party might give a bad impression to the public.

The word “partying” casts me as someone insensitive to the current crisis of the nation.” he said.

He said that they’re following proper social distancing and already under home quarantine since March 24.

The boxing champ also refused the offer of Hwang to let the Barangay officials deliver what they needed in his house.

“We are grateful for your offer to deliver our needs to our doorstep but we do not wish to burden our community with these matters which are well within our means and capabilities,” he said.

Pacquiao then told Hwang that he tested negative to coronavirus and asked the barangay captain for permission to let a member of his household go out to buy their daily needs.

The meeting of PDP-Laban on March 4 has gone viral on social media after Senator Pimentel announced that he tested positive to coronavirus.
