Criticisms are swarming a leader of a girl dancing group on social media after she allegedly tried to humiliate a random passenger on a bus after she failed to get a seat.
On a Facebook post, Sam Francisco Datu posted two selfies showing a sleeping passenger in the background who later identified as Denmark Maranan.
Datu then said on her Facebook post that there’s no gentleman left nowadays, implying that Maranan’s refusal to give her a seat was an act of impoliteness.
“Anong masasabi niyo sa posisyon ko ngayon? Ang saya diba! Sa panahon ngayon wala ng gentleman,” Datu said.
While netizens who are shaming people on social media succeed most of the time, this is not the case for Datu as Maranan fought back to the girl who tried to humiliate him.
On a lengthy Facebook post, Maranan explained that he’s very tired during that time and he needs to experience some comfort by taking a seat on the bus.
“Monday to Saturday gumigising ako ng 4am para pumasok sa work. from pandi Bulacan to Sta. Cruz manila.
Godbless!” he added.
The post of Maranan reached 40,000 shares on social media while Datu’s post against the former was deleted already.
Netizens couldn’t hide their anger towards Datu.
Jusko? Feeling PWD ang peg. Nakakaimbyerna naman yan,” netizen Jolina Jayce remarked.
Meanwhile, Datu posted a live video, explaining her side to the netizens.
She also called the treatment of the netizens to her as “unfair” saying that they should not involve her family in the issue.
Datu also explained that her post is not meant for Maranan.
Datu also explained that she tried to correct her mistakes by blurring the face of Maranan, but it’s already too late.
She also apologized to Maranan, admitting that she’s the “loser” in this issue.
However, she believes that she has the right to put anything she like on her own social media account.
This is not the first time that a netizen was criticized on social media after an attempt to shame someone on the internet.
Four years ago, Karla Monique Olandesca faced a tremendous amount of criticism on social media after she posted a photo of the man who didn’t give a seat to her.
