Vice Ganda, one of the most popular stars of ABS-CBN said that many people in the Philippines are going to be saddened if the said television giant is going to be forced to shut down if its franchise renewal fails to happen.
#NoToABSCBNShutDown,” Vice Ganda, who’s Jose Marie Viceral in real life twitted.
Viceral made the said tweet at the same day when the Office of Solicitor General filed a quo warranto petition against ABS-CBN in the Supreme Court, questioning the legality of the franchise of the broadcasting company and its practices.
Some fans of Viceral also expressed concern on the possible end of the television network.
“Couldn’t imagine opening tv and there’s no Kapamilya channel, how would my kids grow charot pero seriously, nakakalungkot pag nawala talaga abs cbn,” @exolilpony said.

Iam not an abscbn employee but alam ko nararamdaman mawalan ng trabaho,” netizen @agnes73574614 remarked.

However, some followers of the comedian said that they’re supporting the franchise expiration of ABS-CBN, saying that they must face the consequences if they really did something against the law.
Not now, not anymore,” @pinoyakobloq said.
“Sorry @vicegandako pero #YesToABSCBNShutDown,” @ohhlibear told the comedian.
Aside from Vice Ganda, celebrities like Angel Locsin, Coco Martin, Bea Alonzo, Bianca Gonzales, and Agot Isidro expressed their support to ABS-CBN by posting its logo to their social media accounts.
