The South Luzon Tollway Corporation (SLTC) announced that they’re going to give a one-day toll-free pass for both government and private vehicles participating in the relief efforts for the affected families of Taal Volcano in Batangas.
In an interview, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) management said that the free toll pass for vehicle owners is implemented to avoid any delays in relief efforts conducted in Batangas.
They’re going to implement the free toll pass starting tomorrow, January 21, 2020.
Last weekend, SLEX experienced traffic as thousands of volunteers used the expressway to visit the evacuation centers in Batangas.
Meanwhile, the Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection (LCSP) asked also the management of Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) to give free toll pass for vehicles delivering relief goods in Cavite and Batangas.
According to LCSP President Atty. Ariel Inton, a free toll pass could encourage more people to deliver their relief goods as they’re going to have a faster travel time.
Using SLEX and CAVITEX are the fastest ways to travel to Batangas and Cavite if you’re coming from Manila or other parts of Luzon.
