Manila Mayor Isko Moreno expressed his disappointment over the hardheaded jeepney drivers along his City who are tricking the commuters every day by making a cutting trip.
“Ano pang gusto ninyo? Buong Maynila may cutting-trip? Kayo ang mandaraya. Mayayabang kayo,” said Moreno.
In a Facebook video, Moreno said that while the jeepney drivers are always complaining about the higher prices of gasoline and other needs for their vehicles, they’re also tricking their passengers by unloading them in the wrong place.
He pointed out that while the jeepney drivers are claiming that they’re poor, they should also remember that most of their passengers are also needy.
Mandaraya kayo,” The Mayor said.
Oh susunod kayo may enforcer man o wala?” he added.
He also criticized the jeepney driver groups that doing rallies and “tigil-pasada” to express their opposition on the PUV modernization program by the government, saying that they’re only showing their arrogance.
“Kayo na-aapi ng gobyerno dahil sa modernisasyon. Hindi niyo kaya? Hindi… Tapos mangba-black-mail pa kayo ng taumbayan. Magwe-welga kayo? Ang yayabang niyo. Para kayong api? Eh kayo ang mapang-api. Inaapi ninyo ‘yung pasahero eh. Tanong. Mahirap kayo? Eh mahirap din ang sumasakay sa jeep. Kung mayaman ang mga ‘yun, bumili na ng kotse ‘yun,” he said.
According to him, he’s already done with talking to the jeepney drivers doing cutting trips because they’re not stopping with their bad acts.
He revealed that he already filed a complaint to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to remove the franchise of some jeepney owners who are still continuing their cutting trip.
Today, we filed a case,” he said.
