Actress Jean Garcia on the revival of capital punishment: “Kung ayaw mong mabitay, tumino ka!”

Actress Jean Garcia shared her thoughts on the plans of the government to revive capital punishment to strike fear to people who wanted to attempt to break the law.

In an interview with PEP.ph, Garcia said that she favored the revival of capital punishment because of the increasing numbers of lawbreakers who are not afraid of the current consequences assigned by the law for them.

According to her, the revival of capital punishment might discipline the people.

She also described how safe the countries imposing capital punishment for lawbreakers compared to the Philippines.

Garcia said.

Garcia believes that lawbreakers deserved to be punished accordingly.

Ayaw mong mabitay or whatever, tumino ka! Gumawa ka ng tama, di ba?” she said.

The actress said that she already expected that many people would not agree with her opinion, but Garcia said that she would remain firm to her beliefs.

President Rodrigo Duterte and his allies vowed to revive capital punishment despite the criticisms they received from the opposition.

Currently, several senators are pushing for its reimposition.
