Jiro Manio captured the attention of the netizens after he sold one of the most prized possessions he got during his career as a child actor.
In the episode of Pinoy Pawnstars, Jiro offered his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy to Jayson “Boss Toyo” Luzadas for P500,000 but sold it for only P75,000 after a short negotiation.
It’s not yet known why Jiro sold the trophy he won due to his exemplary performance in the 2004 movie Magnifico.
Jiro only said that he sold the trophy because he trusted Jayson that he would only display it in his planned museum, but netizens believed there were other reasons why the former child actor sold it for a low price.
Due to the speculations that Jiro badly needed money, netizens asked FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Coco Martin to help the award-winning actor.

However, when asked if he was planning to return to showbiz, Jiro said that he preferred to continue his job as a volunteer in the rehabilitation center where he was treated.
“Ang maganda kay Jiro, alam niya sa sarili niya na hindi niya pa kaya, kumbaga nagre-rehab siya pero may nakikita pa siyang kahinaan sa sarili niya, kaya hindi niya iniiwan ang rehab,” said Jiro’s doctor, Joel de Leon in a past interview.

In the said episode, Jiro visited Jayson ‘Boss Toyo’ Luzadas’ shop to sell one of the most important things he achieved as a child actor, the Gawad Urian Trophy he won in 2004.
Jiro won the award after his excellent performance in the 2003 Magnifico movie.
Jiro offered the said trophy for P500,000; however, Jayson, who’s known for his bargaining skills, lowered the price to P75,000 after a short negotiation.
“Five hundred thousand? Hmmm five hundred thousand. Sa personal walang masama sa five hundred thousand pesos pinaghirapan mo ‘yon nung time na ‘yan,” said Jayson.
“Ang balik lang dito ‘yung sa amin. Paano namin siya madye-generate kasi negosyo, e business kung baga. Kung bibilhin ko ba ‘to ng five hundred, would there be any potential buyer ba in the next few years? Yun ang lagi kong iniisip,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jiro explained that he sold the said trophy because he believed that Jayson would display it in a museum someday.
“Kasi boss, plano ko talaga, nung napanood kita, sabi nung utol ko na magtatayo ka daw ng museum. Naisip ko, sana mapabilang ako don, sa mga dating artista na nakatanggap ng mga award,” he said.
Talent manager Annabelle Rama denied that she was the one who liked the post of her daughter-in-law, Sarah Lahbati.
