Amid the discussion on the separation between Ai-Ai delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan, some netizens brought up the contributions made by the comedy queen to her husband.

It can be recalled that Ai-Ai helped Gerald become a pilot, which is considered one of the costliest courses in the country.

According to Alpha Aviation Group, flight schools in the Philippines were considered cheaper than other countries but still very expensive for Filipinos.

Aviation Schools in the Philippines may charge you P500,000 to get a Private Pilot License (PPL), P800,000 to get a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and at least two million pesos to become a licensed Airline Transport Pilot.

Gerald got his private pilot license at the Asian Institute of Aviation in 2019.

However, Ai-Ai said that she would also get a CPL for her husband.

It’s not yet known if Ai-Ai also aimed for Gerald to become an airline transport pilot.

“Congrats darling sa (on your) caap checkride and may Private pilot license ka na. Next target CPL (commercial pilot license na),” said Ai-Ai.

It may also take years to become a commercial pilot. However, the salary of a pilot is already considered above average compared to other professions.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Ai-Ai confirmed that Gerald was already practicing his pilot profession in the United States.

Netizens made fun of comedy queen Ai-Ai delas Alas after she announced her breakup with Gerald Sibayan.

In some comments on different social media platforms, netizens connected Ai-Ai’s failed relationship to her decision to publicly support Angelica Yulo.

It can be recalled that Ai-Ai called herself part of ‘Team Nanay’ amid the issue between Angelica and her child, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

She even told Carlos’ girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, to find her place and stop interfering with her boyfriend’s family affairs.

“Kung wala ‘yung nanay niya, wala kang darling ngayon,” said Ai-Ai. “At tsaka hindi ka pa asawa gurl, girlfriend ka palang,” she said.

“Kapag asawa ka na, puwede; pero kapag girlfriend huwag mo muna awayin kasi alam no naman ang mga mommy ‘di ba, isa ‘yan sa mga way na maging harmonious ang inyong relationship,” she added.

On other social media platforms, Ai-Ai received criticism and even called what happened to her ‘Karma.’

“Kaya pala pakielamera kasi magulo na sila. LOL,” a netizen said.

“Bitter ba sya kasi sya yung ginatasan compared sa inaaccuse nyang nanggagatas haha,” the second commenter stated.

“Kaya siguro gigil din kay Klowi kasi masalimuot na ang marriage life. Karma lang din talaga,” the last netizen remarked.

After the separation between Ai-Ai delas Alas and Gerald Sibayan, many netizens asked if the latter would get a part of the comedian’s properties if ever they decided to end their marriage legally.

Ai-Ai and Gerald married in the U.S., where the divorced couple shared their properties once they separated.

However, Gerald may not get any share from Ai-Ai’s property in the United States as he signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding.

According to Ai-Ai, she wanted a prenuptial agreement so people would not judge her husband.

“Para na rin sa kapayapaan ni Gerald, para wala na siyang basher, intriga. Sa mga mag-asawa naman, ke normal, ke artista, wala naman ‘yun. Pera lang ‘yun,” said Ai-Ai. “Kumbaga, hindi naman ‘yun ang batayan ng pagsasama niyo nang matagal. Nasa pagsasama ‘yun kung nagkaka-intindihan kayo, ‘di ba? Pera lang ‘yun. Although kailangan n’yo ‘yun bilang mag-asawa pero hindi ‘yun ang essence ng pagmamahalan,”

However, Ai-Ai still believed that even with a prenuptial agreement, an individual was still not safe from being taken advantage of.

“Kasi s’yempre maraming beses na akong kinasal at marami na rin akong prenup. Hindi guarantee na ‘pag may prenup ka eh hindi ka makukuhanan ng pera. Totoo ‘yun. ‘Pag gusto kang lokohin or huthutan magagawan ng paraan.” she stated.

It can be recalled that Ai-Ai reportedly shouldered the expenses of Gerald’s pilot training and even petitioned the latter to become a U.S resident.

Ai-Ai delas Alas admitted that despite being upset with her husband Gerald Sibayan’s decision to end their relationship, she said that she would not take anything back from the latter.

“Yung hinihiling mong anak, sana magkaroon ka ng healthy child… I wish you well. Kasi sa sampung taon na pinagsamahan natin, in fairness naman to you, naging good husband ka naman. Siguro ganoon talaga ang buhay. Basta sana maging masaya ka na, and I wish you all happiness na hinahanap mo.” she said.

As of writing, Gerald refused to give any statement following his decision to end his relationship with Ai-Ai.

Ai-Ai’s separation from Gerald received a mixed reaction from the netizens, saying that the comedian had already faced the consequences of not listening to the public when she first announced her relationship with the latter in 2014.

Some netizens believed that Gerald only used Ai-Ai for his own gain.

Ai-Ai delas Alas said she did her best to make her partner, Gerald Sibayan, happy.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Ai-Ai said that she tried to become a helpful wife to her husband by doing chores.

“Tinray ko naman ang lahat ng gusto niya, like gusto niya palagi akong nagluluto, so nagluluto ako. Gusto niya malinis ang bahay. Kumbaga, tinray ko naman ang lahat ng best ko. So, nung sinabi niya yon, ano pa ang… hindi naman puwedeng kapag gusto niyang maging masaya, tumambling na lang ako every day. Ano pa ba ang hindi ko ginawa, e, parang nagawa ko na lahat,” said Ai-Ai.

However, Ai-Ai realized that there was a possibility that their huge age gap would never save their relationship.

She also said that Gerald was already independent after she helped him to become a pilot.

Gerald was currently working as a pilot in America.

“Siguro nag-iba na yung priorities niya tapos baka nakakita siya ng mas magiging masaya siya, kaya malaking factor din yon. Alam na niya ngayon how to fly. Parang kasi dati, ako yung nagmamaniobra, kasi ako talaga yung medyo matanda sa kanya,” she stated.

“So ngayon, meron na siyang karapatan to fly, nagwo-work na siya. Nandoon na siya sa Amerika,” she added.

Ai-Ai delas Alas finally confirmed that she was already separated from her husband, Gerald Sibayan.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Ai-Ai said that Gerald only informed her about his decision to end their relationship via text message, saying that he wanted to build his own family and have a child, which the comedian couldn’t provide due to her age.

“Oo, hiwalay na kami. Sinabi niya na gusto niya magkaanak, hindi na siya happy,” said Ai-Ai.

Ai-Ai tried to build a family with Gerald via in vitro fertilization (IVF), but their attempts failed several times, which made the latter disappointed.

When asked if it was possible that Gerald met another woman in America, Ai-Ai only said that she was unsure about it.

“Aahhh, bilang asawa, di ba ang mga asawa malalakas ang [pakiramdam]? Ako, ramdam ko meron. Ramdam ko. Gut feel,” said Ai-Ai. “Pero it doesn’t matter kung meron o wala. Kasi nung sinabi niya na firm na siya sa decision, wala na naman akong ilalaban, di ba?”

“Kapag lumaban pa kasi ako, kunyari nag-stay ako, alam ko naman ang magiging ending. Yung dignity at self-worth ko, mawawala na yon. Nagtira naman ako kasi alam ko na mangyayari uli yon. Kasi nung 2019, nag-cheat na rin siya noon,” she added.

According to her, she already had trust issues with Gerald after what happened in 2019.

As of writing, Gerald, whose social media pages were already deleted, has yet to give any response to Ai-Ai’s statement.

Ai-Ai introduced Gerald, who was 30 years younger than her, in 2014.

Several reports were circulating on social media about the possible actions Ai-Ai delas Alas may have taken after her separation from Gerald Sibayan.
