President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called former President Rodrigo Duterte a ‘liar’ for claiming his administration signed the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2025 with blank lines.
In an interview during his visit to a car dealership, Marcos said that Duterte was fully aware that it would be impossible for him to sign the GAA with missing sections.
He even asked the public to check the GAA document on the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) website so they could see that there were no blank lines on the budget.
“He’s lying. He’s the [former] President, he knows that you cannot pass the GAA with a blank. He knows perfectly well that cannot happen. Hanapin niyo yung sinasabi nila na blank check. Tignan nyo kung meron kahit isa. Para mapatunayan na tama ang sinasabi kong kasinungalingan yan,” said Marcos.
It can be recalled that Duterte pointed out that the Bicameral Committee Report on the GAA 2025 was invalid as they approved it with blanks on the budget.
According to him, it would be impossible for the administration to come up with a budget if some parts of the bicam report were left blank.
“Para kang binigyan ng blangkong tseke diyan, o sige bahala na kayo ilagay ninyo,” said Duterte.
