Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson pledged to give P1-M to two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo’s family as part of his Christmas gift.
In an interview, Singson said he wanted to help the Yulo family after the most decorated Filipino Olympian decided not to communicate with his family after their financial feud.
“I will give Yulo’s family P1 million this December, that’s for sure,” said Singson.
Initially, Singson offered P5-M to convince Carlos to reconcile with his family, but the Olympian didn’t respond.
However, the businessman said that Carlos was still open to grabbing the offer.
“Honor thy father and thy mother. That’s very important,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Singson said that he would also offer assistance to any athlete who was willing to represent the country.
“Kahit sino tutulungan natin, matagal na akong tumutulong sa mga atleta,” he stated.
“Wala akong cut sa kinikita nya, basta ako tulong lang,” he added.
