In an interview, Vic said that he didn’t need to enter politics to serve the people, saying that Eat Bulaga was enough to fulfill his willingness to help.

It can be recalled that his brother, former Senate President Tito Sotto, was running again as a senator after his 24 years of service in the institution, while his son, Vico Sotto, was attempting to run again as Pasig City mayor for his second term.

“You don’t have to be in politics to be of public service. Because with ‘Eat Bulaga,’ it’s more of public service,” said Vic.

“I leave that to my brother. He’s more comfortable. I leave that to my son, Vico. I’d rater be in this industry, in this business, which for me, kahit papaano, nakakatulong ako sa mga kababayan natin, in my own little way,” he added.

Vic was already asked to run many times throughout his career as a comedian but decided to reject those requests.
