Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio went viral on social media after she revealed how she used the cash incentives she received from representing the Philippines.
In an interview, Nesthy said that she was using her cash incentives to invest in real estate to ensure a comfortable future for her family.
According to her, she only wanted to see her family happy and comfortable and even admitted that she already forget to treat herself sometimes.
“Ayoko na naghihirap pa sila, so kung kaya ko silang tulungan. ‘Yun ang pangarap ko sa kanila, lagi ko na ngang nakakalimutan ang sarili ko mas gusto kong nakikita na okay ‘yung mga kapatid ko, pamangkin ko, mama ko,” she said.
“Ganun lang kasimple ang pangarap ko,” she added.
Nesthy won a bronze medal the 2024 Paris Olympics’ women’s boxing.
She also received P4-M from the government, 2.5-M from the House of Representatives, and another P2-M from MVP Group.
When asked how she would use her incentives, Nesthy said that she would use it to buy more properties to have a peaceful retirement with her family.
“Gusto ko lang sa bukid, mag-alaga ng hayop para kapag retired na ko, makakapag-relax nalang ako at makakapagkape,” she said.
“Yun lang ang gusto ko, simpleng buhay sa probinsiya kasama ang pamilya ko, ayokong malayo sila sakin,” she added.
