Television host and actress Janice de Belen addressed the people who opposed the controversial Divorce Bill.
In her tweet, Janice said that if people opposed Divorce, she suggested just making infidelity illegal.
Some netizens reminded Janice that infidelity was already illegal in the country.
“May batas naman sa adultery and concubinage saka abandonment, may kulong at multa din. Kaya lang kahit maparusahan mo spouse mo n nangaliwa eh sa batas mag-asawa pa din kayo, nakatali ka pa din sa asawa kc kasal pa kayo. Para makalaya ka dapat ma-annulled marriage nyo or I-divorced mo spouse mo,” netizen Sheryll said.
It can be recalled that Janice was John Estrada’s former partner, and until today, the actress is still not okay with her ex-husband.
“The reason for us separating, it’s not a tiny thing, it’s not just a disagreement. So many hurtful things, so many hurtful words have already been exchanged.” she said.
There were reports that the reason why their marriage failed was because of John’s alleged womanizing.
Janice’s sister, Gelli de Belen, claimed that she hired an investigator to just prove John’s infidelity.
“Sabi niya ‘I want proof’,” said Gelli. “Proof ba kamo? Naghanap talaga ako ng proof,”
“Kasi ako, if I had gone through the same thing sino pa bang dadamay sakin kundi kapatid ko,” she added.
