Actor Randy Santiago was known for always wearing sunglasses, but many netizens didn’t know that there was a bigger reason why he couldn’t publicly remove them.
Since he started his career in showbiz, there have been few to no photographs of Randy without his sunglasses.
In an interview with Magandang Buhay, he revealed that he was suffering from “lazy eye,” a condition in which his left eyelid drooped.
He said he had difficulties opening his left eye, which started when he was in grade school.
His condition worsened, and a cyst already grew in his left eye, which caused him to undergo an operation.
However, the operation was considered failed as the cyst only regrows in his eye.
To make matters worse, the doctor mistakenly cut off a nerve, which made him unable to open his eyes.
Despite his condition, Randy still became one of the most popular actors in the country.
