In his Facebook post, Director Ronaldo Carballo expressed his disappointment over the result of the pageant, saying that he was rooting for Stacey Gabriel of Cainta to win the competition.

He also couldn’t stop himself from pointing out Manalo’s skin color.

Paanong nangyari ‘yun?” he said.

“Ms. Cainta ang bet ko from the start of the Pageant. Maganda; sexy; at intelligent. Maganda magsalita; walang backel; Spontanous. Effortless. Natural. Pang-Ms. Universe talaga!” he added.

According to him, Manalo would not even enter the top 20 of Miss Universe 2024.

Carballo’s post received criticism from the netizens due to the director’s direct comment on Manalo’s skin color.

Black is beautiful.

As of writing Manalo has yet to give response to Carballo’s comment against her.
