Tito Sotto revealed that there’s a possibility that the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines Eat Bulaga would leave GMA Network if ever that their issues between the executives of Tape Inc. would not be resolved peacefully.
In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Sotto said that it’s not impossible for them to transfer Eat Bulaga, especially since the name of the noontime show came from Tito, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
According to him, they’re already receiving offers from two other stations.
“That’s possible,” Sotto said. “As a matter of fact, I have no problem saying that we’re getting offers from two other stations,”
Sotto said that GMA Network was only talking to the officials of Tape Inc.
Eat Bulaga has been airing on Kapuso Network since 1995 and helped GMA to dominate the noontime ratings for many decades.
Sotto revealed that he had already hired the services of Divina Law, one of the country’s top law firms to study the issue.
According to him, everyone working with Eat Bulaga was disappointed with what was happening.
As of writing, Tape Inc. and GMA have yet to respond to the statements made by Sotto.
In some reports, it was rumoured that TV5 and Net25 already made an offer for an exclusive contract with Eat Bulaga.
The contract between Tape Inc. and GMA was set to expire in 2025.
