Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador called the attention of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) after Vice Ganda pulled the scarf around his co-host Jhong Hilario’s neck.
On September 28, Rendon brought up an episode of It’s Showtime in 2022, where Vice could be seen trying to pull Jhong’s scarf, which made the television host choke.
According to Rendon, MTRCB should review the episode and impose another suspension against the show.
“Hindi na pataasan ng RATINGS ang uso sa mga noontime shows ngayon, kundi paramihan na ng VIOLATIONS. Number 1 parin yata ang #it’Showtime pagdating sa violations. Lahat ng award na kukuha ni Vice,” said Rendon.
“MTRCB, paki imbestigahan nga ito at paki dagdag sa mga violations kung maari. Dapat sila ang tanggalin nionyo sa internet at hindi ako,” he added.
As of writing, MTRCB has not responded to Rendon’s complaint.
It’s Showtime was suspended for 12 days on television and is currently airing via online platforms.
It can be recalled that It’s Showtime’s competitor, E.A.T, faced criticism after Joey de Leon included ‘lubid’ as a thing that could hang around a person’s neck.
E.A.T. already apologized to MTRCB, saying they regret the joke made by one of their hosts.
