A lawyer reminds Vice Ganda’s fans not to criticize MTRCB: “They’re the decision maker”

A lawyer gave a friendly hint to the supporters of It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda not to criticize the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) if they really want to protect the noontime show from suspension.

It can be recalled that MTRCB summoned the producer of the ABS-CBN noontime show due to the alleged indecent actions performed by Vice and his boyfriend Ion Perez during the Isip Bata segment.

Thousands of netizens expressed their disappointment thru social media and called MTRCB ‘unfair’ and even asked the agency’s chairperson Lala Sotto to resign because of her connection to E.A.T host Tito Sotto.

However, former Former Caloocan Prosecutor Darwin Cañete believed that instead of helping Vice, his supporters might put the comedian in a worse situation.

He reminded the fanbase of Vice that MTRCB is not their enemy, but the decision-maker on the fate of It’s Showtime.

“Apologists of horse face forget that when a tribunal summons you, it does not help if you throw mud at it. it is not an opponent. it is a decision-maker. tread carefully,” said Cañete.

In another post, the prosecutor reminded the supporters of Vice about what happened to ABS-CBN when its supporters criticized the congress.

The lawyer’s followers also agreed with what he said.

“Do not antagonize people who have power over the outcome of your case,” Ethel said.

“Parang ABS-CBN lang din. Inangasan nila si PRRD. Yun. Iyak!” netizen Eric commented.

If proven, MTRCB had the power to suspend or even remove It’s Showtime from television.

Sotto also said that It’s Showtime already flagged by their agency several times but they only sent stern warnings in the past.
