Tiba tiba! TVJ, sinabing kumikita ng bilyon bilyong piso kada taon ang TAPE Inc. sa Eat Bulaga

The complaint filed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon against TAPE Inc. revealed much interesting information about the company owned by the Jalosjos family.

According to the 45-page complaint filed by the legendary trio before the Marikina Regional Trial Court, they claimed that TAPE Inc. have been earning P1.824 billion pesos yearly from Eat Bulaga alone.

TVJ said that the majority of TAPE Inc’s income comes from television advertisements.

The trio believed that TAPE should pay them around P17-M for airing a replayed episode of Eat Bulaga for three days, from June 1 to 3.

It can be recalled that last May 31, TVJ and all of Eat Bulaga hosts announced their resignation from TAPE Inc, forcing the company to air taped episode of the longest-running noontime show.

They also asked the court to stop TAPE Inc. from using the segments conceptualized by its former creative director Jeny Ferre.

TAPE currently have segments that are noticeably similar to the popular portions of Eat Bulaga, including ‘Word of the Rings’ and ‘G sa Gedli’, that believed to be counterparts of ‘Pinoy Henyo,’ and ‘Juan for All, All for Juan.

Meanwhile, TAPE Inc. insisted that they’re the registered owner of Eat Bulaga title and its segments so there’s no point for the trio to file a complaint.
