The production company formed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon reportedly planned to return some classic shows, including ‘Wow Mali,’ and ‘Iskul Bukol.’
During the media conference for the new show of TVJ, TV5’s Mediaquest president and CEO Jane Basas it was said that they’re planning to convince TVJ to revive Iskul Bukol (1978-1988), a show about the Escalera brothers, Tito, Vic, and Joey Ungasis.
Meanwhile, ‘Wow Mali,’ a comedy gag show led by Joey de Leon known for its timeless pranks that are still becoming viral today, would add new mainstays Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola.
“We’re actually re-launching ‘Wow Mali’ very soon. Nilalambing namin sila for ‘Iskul Bukol’, so meron pong pag-uusap na ganoon. But in the context of the shared agreement today, ang pinaka-importanteng araw po was actually May 31, and this is when we received a formal letter kung open kami for discussion. And the rest is history.” said Basas.
Aside from the two shows, TV5 and TVJ productions also discuss possible new programs.
Because TVJ has its productions now, they have more freedom when it comes to creating their shows.
They possibly earn more because they already own the production of their shows.
Tito shared that TVJ production was only formed when they decided to leave TAPE Inc. on May 31, 2023.
The said production company also handles their upcoming noontime show in TV5.
