Entertainment Columnist Jun Lalin gave some names of the celebrities who would possibly replace the legendary trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga.
In the said column, he named Paolo Contis, Betong, Buboy Villar, Kuya Kim Atienza, and Alexa Miro as those who would replace the hosts of Eat Bulaga who resigned from Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. last May 31, 2023.
The said celebrities would replace the TVJ, Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo, and Allan K.
However, some fans were not delighted by the news, especially about Paolo hosting Eat Bulaga, especially by the issues he was facing right now.
“Dapat wag nyo nang gamitin yung name na eat bulaga palitan nyo nalang ng ibang name. Makiki ride on lang kayo dun sa legacy ng eat bulaga na pinag trabahuan ng TVJ ng ilang dekada. Ang Eat Bulaga is hindi matatawag na Eat Bulaga kung walang TVJ.” netizen Yahnnie said.
“TAPE can open a new noontime show as long as they won’t use the EB brand. EB is TVJ!” netizen Nimsah said.
“Nagsama pa kayo ng babaero jan n nega n nga ang dating di lalung wala nanood sa inyo. Wag na sayang lang kuryente namin,” netizen Hanna remarked.
As of writing, non of the celebrities mentioned by Lalim have yet confirmed their decision to become part of the rebranded Eat Bulaga.
