Alden Richards reacted to the rumours that he’s not a straight man.
It can be recalled that even until now, Alden was still being accused of being ‘gay’ by some of his critics, especially when his relationship with Maine Mendoza suddenly fell off.
In an interview with Pep in 2014, the actor and television host already addressed the rumours, saying that he was sure of his identity.
“Hindi naman po siguro batayan na porke’t walang lovelife for the past couple of years, yung preference mo, nag-iiba.” Alden said.
According to him, he’s already used to receiving criticism from some netizens.
“A, ako po, sigurado po akong hindi lalaki ang type ko!” he stated.
The rumours started when some photos of Alden, together with some of his male friends, including actor Derrick Monasterio, went viral on social media.
However, Derrick already said that he only tried to grab the phone from Alden.
“Phone po niya yun. Nasa bulsa niya po yung phone niya ‘tapos kinukuha ko po, nag-aasaran kami.” Derrick said.
While Alden was not affected by the said accusations, his father, Richard Faulkerson was not happy with the comments he was reading about his son.
Mr. Faulkerson even challenged the netizens to prove that his son is not straight.
