Jake Zyrus expressed dismay over the repeated comparison by netizens and relatives to him and Charice Pempengco.
In an interview, Jake was visibly annoyed while giving a statement amid the comparison made by his mother, Raquel Pempengco, between his former self and singer Morisette Amon.
Last month, Mrs Pempengco made a reaction to the performance of Morisette during David Foster’s concert.
“Alam ko ang mga timbre ng boses na hinahanap mo DF (David Foster).. Sinabi ko naman sa inyo noon pa… nag iisa lang ang boses na yan. Kahit kanino mo pa ipakanta yang song mo.. Di mabibigyan ng hustisya,” Raquel said.
“NO GOOSEBUMPS.. NO STANDING OVATION.. Nothing compares…. Nag iisang legendary ng Pilipinas si Charice Pempengco at para sa kaalaman ng lahat. Hindi po si DF ang nagpasikat sa kanya kundi si OPRAH. Nireject nga noon ni DF si Charice. Kaya wag umasa na may isasama pa… Masasaktan lang,” she added.
Jake said that it was already impossible to return to his former voice.
“Anong gusto ninyong mangyari? Bubuhayin si Charice? Paano? Scientifically, wala, e. It’s impossible because I’m already taking, like, hormones because that’s who I am.” Jake said.
“Just shut up and listen to your Charice’s songs in your own f*ck*ng time!” he added.
He also believed that it was really disrespectful for some netizens to compare Charice to other singers.
“You’re literally comparing these singers to the person that doesn’t even exist anymore! Do you guys even think about that?” he stated.
Mrs. Pempengco has yet to respond to the interview of Jake.
