Andrea Brillantes went viral on social media after some members of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK read the card that the Kapamilya actress raised during the concert held at Philippine Arena.
In the said card, Andrea asked her boyfriend Ricci Rivero to be her prom date.
“I just wanna ask Ricci will you go to prom with Andrea?” the card reads.
The said incident captured the attention of several BLACKPINK fans and not all of them had a positive comment about Andrea’s request.
Some of them said that Andrea should stop making the concert about herself.
“Ang papansin po. this night is not about them hahaha.” one netizen said.
Andrea’s sister, Aan Gorostiza addressed the criticisms being received by her sister, saying that it’s the actress’s right to be a fangirl.
“Gusto niya lang maging super special ng FIRST PROM NIYA. LET HER BE,” Aan said.
“Yes, yun naman talaga point. Fan talaga ang kapatid ko, masama ba kung nag try siya mag papansin sa idols niya? Aminin na natin, lahat tayo gusto nating mapansin ng BLACKPINK, ok??? Umaga palang NASA arena na siya para pumila JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
“Nagpa print siya ng 6 na banners (both korean & in English) to do a proposal for her VERY FIRST PROM. Nag tiis siya sa init, tumayo ng ilang oras, sure din ako nag tiis siya wag umihi. she exerted as much effort as everyone else.
“Artista siya yes, pero hindi ibig sabihin non bawal an siyang umasta na parang normal na tao. If “normal fan” yan, y’all would be saying “cute”.
“Di talaga ko nag rereact sa mga ganitong bash but damn, leave my sister alone u bitter people. She’s allowed to be a fan girl.”
