Actor who accused of being a shoplifter decided to report the incident: ‘I will have this blottered’

A supermarket chain went viral recently after one of their customers has been accused of being a shoplifter by some security personnel working for the said company.

In a Facebook post, Hope Marco Yutuc posted a video showing how he was being checked publicly by the head of the security of the Puregold Muntinlupa branch.

According to Yutuc, he has been accused of placing unpaid grocery items inside his bag which he repeatedly denied.

In the end, the security personnel didn’t see any evidence to prove their accusations against Yutuc.

The actor shared that he was planning to file charges against the security personnel of the said branch for putting him in an embarrassing situation.

“I will go to the police and have this blottered,” he said.

“I’ll make the necessary actions to be taken friend,” he added.

Yutuc also said that he already got the necessary information to file formal charges against the people who accused him of shoplifting.

“Nakuha ko na kagabi march 13 ang pangalan, edad at tirahan nang in-house security na nag sita saakin para ipablotter na unang dapat na hakbang.” Yutuc remarked.

According to some lawyers, it was possible for Yutuc to file charges if the actor can prove that there was defamation happened in a public place.

The accused has also the right in requesting to discuss the shoplifting accusations in private and not in public.

Meanwhile, Puregold already published a public apology about what happened to Yutuc.

“Please know that this incident is being dealt with privately, with kindness and patience. We ask that you allow us to learn from this and improve.” the company statement reads.

Some netizens also said that what the security personnel did was wrong.

“I think dapat part ng protocol is to stop the suspected customer sa cashier exit then invite quietly na kausapin sa isang private part ng supermarket, pwede rin sa office room. This is to prevent the humiliation of wrongly accused customers in front of others, baka makunan pa sila ng video at ma post without their consent.” netizen Ito Rapadas said.
