Tito Sotto finally speaks about Eat Bulaga Issue: “We’re here to stay”

Former senate president Tito Sotto finally addressed the rumors of the planned rebranding of Eat Bulaga that might result in the removal of several hosts and members of the production team.

It can be recalled that several publications and columnists talked about the rumored power struggle between Former congressman Romy Jalosjos, chairman and founder of Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), and TAPE co-founder Tony Tuviera.

Tuviera is rumored to receive support from the majority of the hosts including Tito, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

However, it was reported that Jalosjos decided to junk the plan because of the negative reaction from the netizens who were watching Eat Bulaga for decades.

In an interview with Korina Sanchez, Sotto assured the netizens that Eat Bulaga would stay.

“We’re there, ‘Eat Bulaga’ is there, Tito, Vic, & Joey.” Sotto said.

“Siguro, ‘yung mga lumalabas na kuwento at kung ano-ano, hindi ko na ia-address dahil kung ano-ano na ‘yung lumabas, eh.

“Perhaps the important thing to say is, ‘Eat Bulaga’ is here to stay and we’re there to stay,”

Sotto also shared the secret of why Eat Bulaga lasted for more than four decades already.

According to them, they’re all ‘hands-on’ when it comes to the show.

He also shared the contribution of TVJ to the show.

“The name ‘Eat Bulaga,’ was coined by Joey. He owns it. Ganu’n ‘yun, eh. The song was created by Vic, he owns it.” Sotto shared.

Tape Inc. was also set to release a public statement to address the issue to finally clear things up.
