The former husband of Maegan Aguilar finally made a statement about the issue being faced by the former singer and daughter of legendary OPM artist Freddie Aguilar.
On March 7, 2023, the content creator and Islamic debater Bashier Sacaguing, who became the husband of Maegan in 2018, commented about the current condition of Maegan, who’s now homeless and having health problems.
Several months after their wedding, Bashier shared that his marriage with Maegan ended because of a problem.
He discovered that Maegan was already a user during that time, so he asked his wife’s family to bring the latter to a rehabilitation center.
According to Bashier, he never heard about Maegan again after their separation.
Bashier also shared that he was why Maegan and Freddie reconciled in 2018.
He praised the OPM artist for being a good father-in-law.
Bashier prayed that Maegan would still get a second chance in life.
“Bigyan natin siya ng pagkakataon kung meron sana tayong maibibigay na tulong at sana po tulungan natin para mapa-rehab siya, para maging maayos ulit ang buhay niya,” he said.
He made a message to his former wife.
“Ako humihingi ako ng tawad sa lahat ng nangyari satin noon at sana ay magbalik loob ka sa Allah. Alam ko at alam mo naman na marami kang natutunan sa pananampalatayang Islam.” said Bashier.
In 2018, it can be recalled that Maegan met Bashier during a medical mission and decided to convert to Islam after they had a relationship.
Maegan said her father also influenced her because she saw how the legendary OPM singer changed for good when he became a Muslim.
“Actually, si tatay yung malaking influence ko kasi seven years na siya, eh. Nakita ko, nagbago si tatay, naging mas mabait na ama. Kung dati para siyang bato na ayaw umiyak, ayaw maka-feel ng panghihina, nabago yon.
“So, nakita ko sa kanya yung mga changes na I wanted also for myself,” Maegan said.
