Mayaman pala! K-Pop fan and her family who got featured in KMJS, receives criticisms after discovery from netizens

A story about a fan who allegedly stole money to fund her K-Pop merch collection went viral on social media.

On March 5, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) featured the story of ‘Bea,’ who snitched almost P2-M to her grandmother, capturing the attention of the K-Pop fandom.

Bea’s grandmother ‘Agnes’ expressed dismay over her grandchild’s action, claiming they’re already struggling.

“Gipit na gipit ako tapos ganun-ganun ang ginawa niya!” she said. “Buong buhay ko ‘di ako naipon ng ganyan. Grabe na ‘yung ginawang nakaw.” Agnes said.

“‘Di naman ako nag kulang sa kanya. Di tayo mayaman,” she added.

Because of the said episode, Bea and her family formed an online shop KPop Jagiya PH to sell all her K-Pop merch to recover all the money she took.

“This page will focus on selling the collection. Getting our family’s money back and making sure that Bea is okay are our top priorities,” the statement from the family reads.

Netizens uncovered the ‘truth’ about Bea’s story.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Bea and her story went viral on social media again after some fans claimed that they discovered that the family of the said K-Pop fan was not really having financial problems.

Some netizens posted photos from Bea’s family to prove they’re not having business problems.

They also uncovered that Bea was really planning to be a businesswoman in the future, reportedly to sell K-Pop Merch.

In another post, they also uncovered that the grandmother of Bea was also a K-Pop fan.

Some netizens believed that Bea’s family allegedly made up some story to promote their business.

In a photo posted by @berrywonwon it can be seen that the grandmother of Bea was connected to Klea Pineda who’s an artist of GMA.

“If they really made up the whole story and got it featured on GMA ‘di na nakakapagtaka it seems like they have connections sa GMA,” the netizen said.

As of writing, Bea’s camp have yet to post any statement about the issue.
