Ilang netizens hinimok ang MTRCB na pigilan ang showing ng pelikula ni Direk Darryl Yap

Several netizens urged the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to also ‘ban’ the upcoming movie of Darryl Yap ‘Martyr or Murderer’.

This was amid the declaration of MTRCB that they were planning to ban Gerard Butler’s movie ‘Plane’ in the Philippines because of its contents.

Facebook page ‘Lalaban Tayo’ posted the announcement of MTRCB and also a comment from a netizen suggested to also disallow Yap’s movie in theatres.

It can be recalled that Yap has been accused by some netizens of spreading misinformation about history to clean the image of the Marcos family.

“Samantalang ‘yung puro pelikula ni Darryl Yap na puro kasinungalingan ayaw i-ban,” the netizen said.

“In the name of honesty and moral values, MTRCB should ban movies that pose misinformations to the viewing public, especially to our youth. We should teach our youths honesty.” netizen Maryann remarked.

Some fans of Yap came to the rescue and also defended the director, saying that his films were backed by documents.

MTRCB has yet to give a response to the request of some netizens.

Last week, Yap also criticized the decision of VIVA after their plan to remove some parts of his movie.

“gusto ko lang magkwento, may ebidensya, may source, may basis!” Yap said.
