Gen.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Nicolas Torre III finally shared his reaction to the people who kept calling him ‘Diwata’ due to his resemblance to the internet celebrity and entrepreneur.

In an interview with Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja, Torre was asked if he was being offended by his critics calling him ‘Diwata.’

As a response, Torre revealed that he wanted to meet Diwata, whose real name is Deo Balbuena, soon.

“Hindi ko pa nami-meet si Diwata, and I’m really excited (to meet him),” he said.

“Kaya nga iniisip ko nga rin, ‘sabi ko teka muna eh hindi ko pa nami-meet si Diwata, wala naman siguro masama doon kung gagawa ako ng aking paresan’,” he added.

It can be recalled that Torre started to be called Diwata when he became the acting director of the Davao Regional Police Office, and led the operation to arrest Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

How, aside from being called ‘Diwata,’ netizens started to call him Pitbull after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Jonvic Remulla compared him to the said dog breed.

The woman who went viral on social media after being spotted while emerging from a drainage along Makati was featured on Jayson “Boss Toyo” Luzadas’ show, Pinoy Pawnstars, to sell the cutter she recovered from the culvert.

During the episode, Jayson interviewed Rose, also known as ‘Imburnal Girl’, about her life and why she went into the drainage.

Rose clarified that she didn’t live in the drainage and only wanted to recover her lost cutter.

Jayson then offered to buy her cutter for P5,000, but after some negotiation, the vlogger decided to increase it to P10,000.

He also gave a free cellphone to Rose and her family members.

Rose then admitted that she had a vice, but she didn’t specify what kind of habit she had.

“Nagbibisyo naman po ako, pero hindi naman po araw-araw,” she said.

The vlogger then asked the relatives of Imburnal Girl not to waste the money he gave on vices.

It can be recalled that Rose received P80,000 worth of cash aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and was enrolled in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to finish her studies.

She was also set to become an ambassador of DSWD to encourage other street dwellers to cooperate with the government.

A former barista working for coffee chain giant Starbucks gave his thoughts on the complaint published by a blogger after the staff mispelled his name.

In his Facebook post, content creator and former Starbucks barista Marron Santillan said that it was already a common occurrence that some staff of the coffee shop would misspell their customers’ names because of the noise, especially during peak hours.

He was also surprised that a customer complained because of his misspelled name.

“Minsan, hindi talaga maiiwasan na ma-misspell ang pangalan ng customer sa cup. Actually, kapag hindi masyadong busy, I even ask how they spell it para safe. Pero kahit na ganun, marami pa ring beses na namispell ko ang pangalan ng customers kasi hindi naman ako perfect?” he said.

Pero kahit ganoon ay hindi naman sila nag-inarte? Hahaha. Kasi Starbucks atmosphere is very homey, that’s why we call it our ‘third place’, at sobrang KJ mo naman if gagawa ka ng eksena because of that,” he added.

Marron also debunked some rumors that Starbucks staff would sometimes intentionally misspell their customers’ names as part of their marketing strategy.

“Hindi ko kinaya yung attitude ni accla, feeling very important person siya, bhie 😭 Also, dun sa nagpapalalat ng marketing strat daw na i-mispell yung name ng customers? Saang lupalop mo naman nahugot yan, ate?” he stated.

It can be recalled that netizen JP Abecilla, a self-proclaimed award-winning blogger, claimed that the barista mispelled his name as “JC,” which prompted him to leave the store.

“Frustrated and disappointed, I decided to walk out without claiming my order. It’s been about 30 minutes now. I imagine they’re still calling out “JC” for an order that’s probably headed to the garbage can soon.” he stated.

A self-proclaimed award-winning blogger and marketing manager couldn’t hide his disappointment with a popular coffee shop chain after one of its employees mispelled his name.

In a Facebook post, JP Abecilla proclaimed that Starbucks Philippines lost a loyal customer after he had an experience with one of the coffee shop’s baristas.

According to JP, he tried to correct the barista several times to ensure that they would write his name correctly.

“When it was my turn, the barista asked for my name (as usual) and wrote it on the cup,” said Abecilla.

“When he set the cup down, I saw it read “Jade.” I corrected him, saying it should be “JP.” No apology, he crumpled the cup and grabbed a new one. I even spelled out the initials: It’s JP, J for Juliet and P for Papa, JP,” he added.

However, when it was already his turn to receive his coffee, he realized that they mispelled his name again from JP to JC.

“I waited for my order. A few minutes passed, and I heard a barista call out in an unpleasant tone: “Café Americano for JC!” he wrote.

“I didn’t react. It wasn’t my name. I assumed someone else had a similar order. But after several more minutes and the addition of a Cinnamon Danish to the tray, I started to wonder. Still, “JC” was being called, repeatedly and coldly, with no one stepping up,” he added.

JP then decided to leave the coffee shop without claiming his order because of frustration and disappointment.

The post received mixed reactions from the netizens.

As of writing, Starbucks Philippines has yet to comment on JP’s complaint.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reminded the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers to maintain basic hygene or else face fine.

LTFRB cited Memorandum Circular 2011-004, which penalizes drivers who disregard personal hygiene, which could result in body odor or ‘putok,’ may face a fine of P2,000 to P5,000 and possible license revocation.

The agency said they would welcome commuters who would file complaints against stinking PUV drivers.

Atty. Ariel Inton, LTFRB’s spokesperson, said they were planning to launch a program called “Disenteng Driver” to encourage PUV drivers to be presentable.

They were planning to implement a rule requiring PUV drivers to wear blue T-shirts, red for taxi drivers, green polo shirts for UV Express, and white polo shirts for bus drivers.

However, several groups raised their eyebrows at the proposed regulation, saying it would force drivers to spend extra buying new clothes.

Inton also clarified that they would not actively look for drivers with body odor.

‘Hindi mo huhulihin ‘yan na.. eh bakit, wala naman kaming taga-amoy ng kili-kili para gawin ‘yan. Hindi po ganun. Its is (just) a reminder. Rest assured, wala tayong witch-hunt dito.

Another individual was spotted while emerging from a drainage along Adelantado Street in Makati City.

In a video published by motorcycle rider Jefferson Candido, the man wearing worn-out clothes could be seen trying to exit the drainage.

The man didn’t respond to Candido’s questions and quickly left the area.

He also noticed that the man was carrying a metal object, which raised suspicions about the rider.

“May hinuhukay na bangko ata itong mga ‘to ha,” said Candido.

It can be recalled that the so-called ‘mole people’ of Makati City went viral on social media after a photographer spotted one of them on the same street.

It’s unknown if the video was taken before the incident went viral, as the drainage along Adelantado was already blocked to prevent people from accessing it.

Meanwhile, one of the mole people, ‘Rose’, received an aid worth P80,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Some netizens expressed their concern about the actions taken by DSWD, as it may encourage more individuals to become mole people.

‘Imburnal Girl’ kinokonsidera na maging isang ambassador ng DSWD

The woman who went viral on social media after she was spotted emerging from a drainage was being considered to become an ambassador of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Rose, also known as ‘Imburnal Girl,’ received the public and the government’s attention because of her actions, which a photographer in Makati captured.

After sharing her wish to have a small business, she received more than P80,000 worth of cash aid from the DSWD.

In a statement, DSWD Sec. Rex Gatchalian said that they came up with the idea of making Rose their ambassador to help convince other street dwellers to cooperate with the agency.

According to Gatchalian, Rose may help DSWD to change the perspective of the street dwellers and convince them that the agency is there to help them and not to transfer them to other places.

Jake Ejercito was exploring legal options against Mindanao-based vlogger Crist Briand after the latter featured Ellie Eigenmann in his vlog without her consent.

On his Facebook post, the actor appealed to his followers to report Briand’s page for invading the privacy of his daughter with Andi Eigenmann.

To prove that Ellie was not comfortable with Briand’s action, Jake showed a part of the video where his daughter could be seen covering her face.

“Please continue reporting the page of this irresponsible clout chaser who ambushed a 13-year-old girl for views. I’m now in the process of exploring legal options,” he said.

“Using minors for your content is disrespectful and exploitative. My daughter made it clear that we will not be okay with you doing this. And she is clearly uncomfortable. Build your platform on integrity! Don’t use our daughter for clout,” he added.

According to the Data Privacy Act of 2012, minors like Ellie must be protected from sharing their data, including their faces, without consent.

Briand has yet to respond to Jake.

It can be recalled that Mayor Benitez was facing charges from his wife, Nikki Benitez, after his alleged relationship with several women, including actress Ivana Alawi.

However, Gaza’s account mysteriously disappeared on Facebook, which Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, the son of the Benitez couple, confirmed.

Several netizens speculated that the internet celebrity received a warning from Benitez’s camp.

Some of them even believed that the Benitez family could find internet celebrities due to their influence in the Philippines and other countries.

Gaza never came back to the Philippines after he fled the country in 2018, after being convicted of being involved in an investment scam.

Bacolod City First Lady Nikki Benitez named two additional personalities in her complaint against her husband, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez.

Aside from actress Ivana Alawi, Mrs. Benitez also narrated how her husband admitted her relationship with Binibining Pilipinas World 1996 Daisy Reyes and former Viva Hot Babes member Andrea del Rosario.

According to Mrs. Benitez, her husband had children with Rosario and Reyes.

In her complaint, Mrs. Benitez narrated that she had already heard rumors about her husband and Reyes’s relationship, which intensified when the beauty queen was reported to be pregnant.

However, the respondent, Mayor Benitez, denied his affair with the beauty queen.

In 2009, Mrs. Benitez was again disrupted by another rumor between her husband and Del Rosario.

She only discovered that her husband had children with both personalities when the latter submitted his psychiatric evaluation related to the petition to nullify their marriage.

“The psychological evaluation revealed that the Respondent admitted to having two daughters outside of his marriage with me,” said Mrs. Benitez.

As of writing, Del Rosario and Reyes have yet to give their reaction to the accusations made by Mrs. Benitez.
