Veteran journalist criticizes IATF policies like mandatory face shield: “Anong kag*g*han ito Mr. President?”

A veteran journalist couldn’t hide his disappointment over the policies being implemented by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

In a Facebook post, Jay Sonza said he’s already near to describe the actions of IATF as “overreacting” because of the ideas they’re trying to apply to the people.

Sonza also claimed that there’s no other countries in the world that urging the people to wear a face shield and face mask at the same time.

“Malapit ko ng sabihing OA na masyado itong IATF natin. There is no country in the world that requires their citizens to wear face mask and face shield all at the same time to protect them from the Pandemic. Wala na ngang pambili ng ulam iyong Pilipino, pagagastusin nyo pa ng pambili ng face shield,” said Sonza.

He even asked if the officials of IATF are only trying to pretend as an expert when it comes on handling a pandemic.

Sonza pointed out that face shields should be reserved to the frontliners and other people who were vulnerable.

“And higit na nangangailangan ng face masks at face shields at PPEs ay ang mga Frontliners na nagkakasakit na. Utang na loob, IATF. Our life is alteady difficult as it is. Please don’t make it misearable. Anong kag*g*han ito Mr. President?” he said.

Starting August 15, commuters are being required to wear face shields in public transport.

Employees are also being asked to wear face shields while doing their job.

Effective August 15, it is not only a face mask that workers should wear but also face shields. That is the new protocol,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said on Wednesday.
