Biker brought to police station after he was caught without mask while drinking water

A bicycle rider was brought to the police station and paid 1,000 pesos fine for not wearing a face mask.

Netizen Michael Manansala narrated that he stopped at Marikina river park to take a rest as he still needs the energy to travel to Mandaluyong City.

While resting, he removed his face mask to drink water, however, he was spotted by the authorities and approached him.

“Bigla ako hinuli ng mga Police at pinasakay sa sasakyan At dinala sa headquarters nila . at pinag multa ng 1.000 So ano gagawin ko iinom ako ng naka facemask,” said Manansala.

Manansala addressed the people who brought him to the police station.

“Sana maging patas kayo. ‘Wag kayong gahaman. Sana magtulungan tayo, hindi ‘yung manggugulang ng tao dahil pandemic ngayon. At ‘yung 1k na hiningi niyo sa akin, mahirap hanapin ‘yan lalo na’t walang-wala kami ngayon dahil sa pandemic. Pang bigas na rin ‘yang 1k na ‘yan.” he said.

Manansala even claimed that the officers had his mugshot.

Marikina is strictly imposing its City Ordinance requiring all people to wear their face mask in public places.

The City Government of Marikina has yet to comment on the complaint of Manansala.

This is not the first time that a bicycle rider was caught for not wearing a face mask.

Last month, journalist Howie Severino was apprehended by Quezon City law enforces for pulling his mask to take a drink.

Unlike Manansala, Severino who was brought to Amoranto stadium for a seminar was released without paying fine.
