Actress Maris Racal on ABS-CBN franchise rejection: “Boto tayo sa 2022”

Actress Maris Racal couldn’t hide her sadness after 70 members of the House of Representatives rejected the franchise of her home network ABS-CBN.

In a series of tweets, Racal expressed her disappointment after she was informed that only 11 people voted in favor of the Kapamilya network.

She then urged the people to vote for 2022, implying that the next President might support the franchise of ABS-CBN.

One of the possible presidential candidates in 2022, Vice President Leni Robredo expressed her support to the ABS-CBN recently.

“This is so heartbreaking. di ako makapaniwala, di ko alam. Sobrang nakakaiyak. That was 70 VOTES,” Racal said.

“Hanggang drafts nalang yung ibang gusto kong sabihin. Boto tayo sa 2022,” she added.

Earlier, Racal pleaded to the lawmakers to consider the thousands of workers that could be affected by the closure of ABS-CBN.

Kapamilya network claimed that 11,000 employees could be affected by the closure of their company.

“Please hear us!!!! Marami pong mawawalan ng trabaho,” she said.

The actress became controversial a few months ago after she criticized the government and accused of shaming the Visayan people.

“Positive na sukang suka na sa government. good people are outnumbered,” the actress tweeted.

Netizens criticized Racal too much that her family already vowed to sue the bashers of the actress.

“Feel free to take screenshots and send it to me. I might not reply because I’m flooded with messages, but thank you. We’re taking legal actions on this. Apparently, spreading rumors can really put you in trouble. Good luck guys!” Racal’s sister said.

ABS-CBN has yet to give information about their next move after the decision of Congress.
