Marami pa ang nagbabalita! Former ABS-CBN host listed other sources of news after closure of Kapamilya network

Former ABS-CBN host and veteran journalist Jay Sonza told the netizens that the Filipinos could still get source of news despite the closure of the Kapamilya network due to the order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

In a Facebook post, Sonza insisted that the closure of ABS-CBN could lead to information shortage, pointing out that there’s still a plenty of media companies operating until now.

“It is not true that people will be denied information in this time of pandemic or anytime because abs-cbn expired and went OFF the air,” Sonza said.

“There over 1000 TV, Radio, Webcast, Direct TV Network, plus Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube,” he added.

Sonza then posted a list of media companies that still publishing news to help his followers who were problematic where to get their source of information after ABS-CBN signed off.

“The following are the fountain of news, information & education:

1. Manila Broadcasting Company – DZRH, DZRH-TV, Yes FM, Love Radio, Easy Rock, & 150 affiliate community FM stations & cable providers nationwide.
2. GMA Network Incorporated, RGMA, GMA News TV – Channels 7 & 11, DZBB and it’s provincial radio & TV stations.
3. Media Quest & Cignal HD – TV5, Aksyon Radio, Aksyon TV, OnePhils, OneNews, OneSports
4. Radio Mindanao Network – DZXL and it’s provincial stations
5. Bureau of Broadcast – Radyo Pilipino & it’s provincial radio stations

Sonza said that people could still live a normal life without ABS-CBN, mentioning that the network was also closed down for 14 years during the Marcos period.

Some of the veteran journalist’s followers also shared their thoughts on what happened to ABS-CBN.

“All the top management of ABS are talking about compassion. They are not talking about the solutions that they will do to air again. They believe that the paawa effect will work. They don’t understand that “ IGNORANCE OF THE LAW EXCUSES NO ONE,” Paulo Paras said.

“Never blame an iceberg who sank a Titanic ship with thousands of people on it. The captain and crew might have ignored it and never saw it coming,” Salvador Gopilan remarked.

As of writing, Sonza’s post already reached 2,700 shares.
