President Duterte mentions kagawad who caught allegedly corrupting SAP: “Ikaw may trabaho ka, kukunin mo pa yung pera ng mahirap!”

President Rodrigo Duterte during the meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) made a special mention to a barangay kagawad who recently caught for allegedly corrupting the funds of the social amelioration program (SAP).

Duterte mentioned Kagawad Danilo Flores of Barangay San Agustin, Hagonoy, Bulacan who recently gone viral on the internet after he told some residents of their barangay that they’re only going to get 3,000 pesos instead of 6,500 from the SAP.

In the video posted by a concerned citizen, it showed Flores debating with some residents about the SAP.

Flores insisted and claimed that the Mayor of Hagonoy decided to cut the SAP so they could cover all the poor families in their place.

The Kagawad also warned the residents not to post their conversation on social media because the Mayor might get angry.

Duterte was informed about the action made by Flores so he called out the Kagawad and cursed him for corrupting the funds meant for the poor people.

“Sinabi ko na sa inyo na kung may gagawin kayo, ‘wag sa panahon ko… sinabi ko na noon pa, sinabi ko na sa kanila,” Duterte said.

The President asked the Mayors to supervise their local officials to prevent any form of corruption during the distribution of financial aid.

“Katulad nalang nitong si Kagawad Danilo Flores ng San Agustin, Hagonoy, Bulacan, ang p*t*ng in* m* nakuha ka pa ng television na hinihingi mo (yung SAP),” Duterte said.

“Ikaw may trabaho ka na, kagawad ka, ang p*t*ng in* kukunin mo pa yung pera ng mahirap, I’d like to presume that you were elected because your constituents find you to be a man of integrity and honesty and you can perform,” he added.

Flores was sacked by the members of the Hagonoy, Police yesterday.

The Kagawad is now facing charges for violation of Sec. 3(b) RA 3019 also known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Mayor Raulito Manlapaz of Hagonoy also denied that he ordered Flores to cut the financial aid for his constituents.
