President Rodrigo Duterte called defeated senatorial candidate Chel Diokno and called him ‘lousy lawyer’ for allegedly politicizing the current issues in the country.
During his most recent televised address, Duterte slammed Diokno and accused him of encouraging the public to violate the law.
Diokno is known for his social media post reminding the netizens about their rights amid the enhanced community quarantine.
“Alam mo Diokno sa totoo lang, bilib ako sa tatay mo pag nasa korte yon noong estudyante pa kami talagang nanonood ako, pero noong ikaw nakita kita, wala ka talagang sinabi, pag magsalita ka, wag lang mainsulto yan ah, etong si Diokno pag magsalita parang janitor,” Duterte said.
The President also explained why Diokno didn’t get the support of the masses last senatorial elections.
“Alam mo kung bakit? Kalaki kasi ng ngipin mo, magsalita ka kalahati ng panga mo lumalabas… totoo tanungin mo ang mga Pilipino na nakikinig ngayon, kung magsalita ka ang laki ng ngipin mo,” Duterte said.
Duterte said that there’s a right time to talk about politics and it’s not during the crisis.
He also told Diokno that he never used the presidential yacht and newly-bought jet for the chief executive.
“Matagal ng binili ng airforce yan, you are intellectual liar, alam mo yung eroplano matagal ng inorder, tapos sabihin mo bumili ng eroplano… ginagamit yan ng airforce sabihin ko sayo ngayon hindi ko nga nakita yang eroplano na yan, hindi ako gumagamit sa gobyerno kapag ako ang nag travel, para malaman mo Diokno,” Diterte said.
“Ang yate nasa pantalan, kung gusto mo iyo na yan, pero sabi ko sa navy gawing ospital kagad yan pati tulong sila ng iba,” he added.
In one of his tweet, Diokno slammed the government for the lack of action to the violation committed by Senator Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III, calling it ‘double standard’.

He also defended Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto who received a subpoena from NBI, saying that the authorities should focus on other things than politicians who are only doing their job.
