Barangay councilor slams government’s incomplete announcement of cash aid to people: “Hirap na hirap na kami!”

A barangay councilor in Taytay, Rizal, slammed the national government’s decision to announce the Social Amelioration Program (SAC) without giving further details to the people, saying that the local government officials like him were suffering already.

In a Facebook post, Tobi Cruz of Barangay Sta. Ana in the said municipality complained that the cluelessness of the people about the SAC already resulted in chaos in his place.

He was frustrated about what’s happening in their barangay right now because their hands were full already in implementing the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) then here’s another problem again being brought by the national government.

“Duterte announcing the Social Amelioration Program without its details and guidelines is creating chaos at the LGU level! People are storming our barangay hall at sobrang daming nagagalit na kahit sa social media,” Cruz said.

“Hirap na hirap na kami sa barangay taking care of implementing the ECQ and trying to provide relief, tapos ganto pa gagawin ng national government sa amin. Umayos kayo!”

According to him, it’s really hard to blame the people for being clueless about the SAC as the government didn’t give further details to them.

Cruz hoped that the government should provide proper information to the people as they already got billions of funds because of the special powers given to the President.

Kasi at the end of the day sila lang din ang mahihirapan’,” he said.

“It’s hard to put the blame on people. They are hungry and desperate. With Duterte’s emergency powers and billions of funds, don’t you think we at least deserve proper details and information?” he added.

Netizens couldn’t stop themselves from giving their comments about the post of Cruz.

Netizen Morina Favorito told the councilor that they should perform better especially that the crisis being faced by the country only happens very rarely.

Walang reklamo dapat kasi yan yung public service na sinumpaan nyong gagampanan nung nangangampanya kayo,” Favorito said.

Netizen Anza Pereira agreed with Cruz’s thoughts, saying that the LGUs were suffering so much due to the actions being implemented by the national government.

Keep safe,” Anza Pereira commented.

Patrick Francisco also expressed disappointment to the government, saying that people already thought that the LGUs are ready to distribute the SACs because of the announcement from the government.
