Kiray Celis on franchise expiration of ABS-CBN: “Problema na nila ‘yun”

Actress Kiray Celis said that she’s not already bothered by the possible closure of her former network ABS-CBN, saying that she’s already not in the position to comment on it.

In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Celis, who’s a talent of GMA-7, said that she’s not thinking of the issue being faced by ABS-CBN anymore.

“Hindi na po nagma-matter sa akin, siguro problema na po nila yun,” Celis said.

However, Celis showed concern about the employees who may lose their jobs if the ABS-CBN franchise expires.

“Pero sana masolusyonan kasi may nagtatrabaho sa kanila. Nakakalungkot kapag mawala yun siyempre.” she said.

Celis, who worked for ABS-CBN for 19 years, said that she’s not regretting leaving the said network.

According to Celis, she’s not satisfied of what she’s doing during her time as a talent of ABS-CBN.

“Napansin ko na wala talaga akong ginagawang show. Puro guesting lang sa [It’s] Showtime, ganun, mga guesting-guesting lang.” the actress said.

“O kaya kapag nagpu-promote lang ako ng pelikula kaya nakakapag-guesting ako sa mga shows nila.” she added.

Now, Celis signed a 10-year contract with GMA-7.

The comment of Celis is not the same with Angel Locsin, Sharon Cuneta and other celebrities who urged President Rodrigo Duterte to support the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

It can be remembered that President Duterte vowed to block the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN which set to expire in March 2020.

He even urged the owners of ABS-CBN to sell the network to other businessmen because there’s no hope for them to get a renewal.
