Mayor Inday Sara posted cryptic message amid SEA games controversy: “I told you but you did not listen”

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte posted a mysterious message on her Instagram page amid the criticisms being received by the government because of the Southeast Asian (SEA) games 2019 mess.

On her Instagram post, Inday Sara addressed the congressmen, saying that they’re already taking the consequences of not listening to her.

“I told you so” is a sure-fire way to kick-start an argument. In the same way, “you do not listen” will ignite a conversation into a heated one. May I just say to everyone in Congress, “I told you but you did not listen so there you go.” said Duterte.

Inday Sara is known for opposing House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano’s leadership in the Congress.

She supported Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco for House Speakership, however, President Duterte decided to form a term-sharing between Cayetano and the latter.

“Congressman-elect Alan Peter Cayetano was correct when he said that he did not seek for my endorsement when he came to Davao to talk to me sometime last year,” Sara said in a statement in May 2019.

“He, however, came with a veiled threat, that if I endorse Representative Velasco for Speaker, I would break up the ‘group.’ And this, he said, will affect the Presidential elections of 2022,” she added.

The presidential daughter made the message amid the tremendous amount of criticisms being received by Cayetano who’s also the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC)  chair because of alleged mishandling and corruption issues in SEA games.

House Speaker Cayetano is not yet giving any comments on Inday Sara’s post.
