After receiving 287,000 dislikes on Youtube and a tremendous amount of criticisms on other social media platforms, journalist Raffy Tulfo apologized to the netizens after he pushed the revocation of the license of a teacher who received a complaint in his show.
A few days ago, Tulfo received criticisms after he scolded teacher Melita Limjuco in his show after the latter was caught ordering the child of the complainant to sit outside their classroom.
“I am going to listen to the netizens, kasi nga naman kung wala yung mga netizens eh wala din tayong show, so having said that I guess, ang gagawin ko nalang ay etong si teacher at itong parent ng bata ay pagbabatiin ko nalang,” Tulfo said.
“May point nga naman sila na very harsh yung desisyon na pag-resignin yung teacher, although si teacher, she really admitted na meron siyang pagkakasala doon,” he added.
According to Tulfo, he would agree to the netizens not to revoke the license of the teacher. However, he insisted that Limjuco should be sanctioned for what she did.
Later on, Tulfo talked to complainant Rosemil Edroso, the mother of the child whom Limjuco punished.
He urged Edroso to accept the apology of Limjuco and retract their intention to remove the license of the teacher.
“Para sa akin naman po, kung ang Diyos ay nakakapag patawad, tayo pa kaya, nag apologize naman po si teacher on air, doon pa lamang po ay nagpakumbaba na siya, sana po ay nakabawas na po ito ng sama ng loob niyo,” Tulfo told Edroso.
“So okay lang po ba sa inyo na pagbabatiin ko nalang kayo ma’am?” he added.
However, Edroso complained that they also received a mass amount of criticisms on social media and some people even made a fake account to make fun of them.
Despite that, Tulfo is successful in convincing the complainant to stop pushing the revocation of the license of Limjuco after he pointed out the importance of the netizens, and also narrated that he also experienced being disciplined by his teachers.
Now, Edroso is only asking for another public apology from the teacher next week.
“I think it’s a win-win solution, nanalo po kayo at nakakuha ng hustisya, nanalo rin po yung mga netizens sa kanilang gustong mangyari. Sana ma’am maintindihan niyo tong sinasabi ko,” he said.
Before the episode ends, Tulfo said that he welcomes the criticisms from the netizens.
“Okay lang yun, hindi niyo nagustuhan yung desisyon ko, hindi niyo nagustuhan yung desisyon ko, okay lang po yun punahin ninyo ako, tao lang naman ako, hindi naman ako perpekto,” he said.
He then shared to the netizens how tiring his job is in handling Raffy Tulfo in Action.
“This is the time na sabihin ko sa mga netizens, ano bang kalagayan ko diyan sa ating programa. Hindi po madali ang ginagawa ko po at ginagawa ng mga tao, daan daang katao po ang gustong makipag usap sa akin every single day,” he said.
“By the time na pag dating po ng hapon, pagod na pagod na ko, kung minsan bago palang ako maisalang sa tanghali yung isang problema, pagod na ko, kasi may tinatawag na off-air na pagi-interview,” he added.
