Talent manager and showbiz writer Lolit Solis defended Senator Bong Revilla Jr. after artist Jim Paredes criticized the latter for his television comeback in GMA-7.
Solis used Instagram to defend Revilla, saying that Paredes seems to forget the controversy he faced after his surprising video circulated in April this year.
According to Solis, Paredes should give a chance to people like Revilla to recover like how the netizens forget talking about his video.
“Mukhang nalimutan na ni Jim Paredes ang video niya at tumitira na naman siya ngayon at ang target, si Bong Revilla naman. Dapat nga masaya siya dahil tulad ni Bong, mukhang nalimutan na rin ng tao ang intriga tungkol sa video na lumabas. Kailangan bigyan mo ng chance ang mga tao na bumabangon muli mula sa pagdapa, kailangan mas maunawain ka kapag iyon binigyan ng second chance nakabangon uli,” Solis said.
“Iyon bill ni Sen Bong Revilla na mas maaga ibigay ang benefits ng mga senior citizen pinuri na ng mga netizen, bakit heto si Jim Paredes na sarcastic tungkol dito? Eh kung buweltahan naman siya nga sa edad mo hindi ka na dapat nagkakaroon ng scandal, ‘di ba magiging masakit iyon para sa kanya?” she added.
Solis said that during the height of the controversy faced by Paredes, she only tried to understand the situation of the legendary OPM artist and didn’t choose to join the netizens from criticizing the latter.
She wished that Paredes find peace already and avoid finding fault from other people.
“Isa ako sa nauna noon na nagsabi na dapat unawain natin ang kalagayan ni Jim Paredes kahit pa nga tinawag niya ako demented woman nang mangyari ang scam, dahil tanggap ko na sa isang nagkamali, napakalaking bagay iyon meron kahit isa man lang na magpakita ng pang unawa at ng bukas puso na patawad,” she said.
“Sana after the scandal, mas naging maluwag na ang puso at isipan ni Jim Paredes. After all, kung nakagawa ka ng mali, dapat makita mo rin na walang perfect at kung tinanggap ka uli ng tao dapat ganun ka rin mag-welcome sa iba. Huwag masyado political at fault finder Jim Paredes. Lagi mo balikan iyon araw na pumutok iyong video. Maging aral iyon sa iyo,” she added.
Yesterday, Paredes criticized Revilla after news reports circulated that the latter is going to appear in a weekly fantasy-drama show for children.

“PERA PERA PERA lahat. OK Lang sa inyo na maging role model siya ng kabataan? C’mon GMA. You can do better than this,” Paredes said.
