Sen. Lacson to VP Robredo: “You should really watch your back all the time”

Senator Panfilo Lacson suggested to the newly appointed co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (IAC) Vice President Leni Robredo work with the people she trusted.

In an interview, Lacson offered some of his contacts to Robredo consisting of retired and active law enforcers who are already knowledgable about operations against illegal drugs.

“Marami ako ire-refer na tao na both sa active service at newly retired na maalam sa operation ng dangerous drugs, kakausapin ko sila para makatulong sa inyo; para magbigay ng information. Hindi adviser. Ito mga volunteers kakausapin ko magboluntaryong tulungan siya, magbigay ng advice,” Lacson said said.

Lacson said that Robredo should only get his sources from trusted people as she would face different kinds of cops.

“Sabi ko ang especially ang pulis sari-saring character. She should really watch her back all the time,” he said.

“She should develop her own people who could be trusted. It entails a lot of study in the performance of her duties. Makikita niya sino credible and trustworthy sa tao, mag-develop siya ng sarili niya within the law enforcement na pwede mag-provide ng intel info sa kanya o mag-observe ano kamalian sa naliligaw na landas na pulis,” Lacson added.

The Senator who’s also a former head of Philippine National Police also pointed out the importance of intelligence in enforcing the law.

“Ang intelligence napakaimportante noon, that’s the prime mover of all operations especially sa law enforcement. Kung bulag ka and di mo alam target mo, anong gagawin mo?” he said.
