Mayor Isko Moreno reveals Ferdinand Marcos as one of his role models

It seems that Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno is trying to imitate the tough leadership of his idol who’s a former President of the Philippines.

Ricky Lo of Philippine Star wrote an article on May 17, 2019, about the past interview of Moreno seven years ago.

In the said interview, Moreno who’s a former scavenger revealed the people who inspired him during his younger days several decades before he entered politics.

According to Moreno, former President Ferdinand Marcos is one of his role models.

Marcos is known for his strict leadership, which amazed his loyal supporters nationwide. However, the former President is also being criticized for being corrupt and dictator.

Moreno was only 12 years old when the People Power Revolution which toppled the Marcos administration happened.

It might explain why Moreno wanted to revive the Nutribun program which reached it peaked during the Marcos administration.

He’s also planning to revive “Kadiwa” a mobile store which traveling in different places to sell cheap fishes, meat and other basic goods.

Kadiwa was launched during the time of Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

In 2016, Moreno was adopted as a senatorial candidate by Vice President Bongong Marcos, the son of the President he idolizes. An evidence that Moreno is close to the Marcos family.

Aside from Marcos, the Manila Mayor also idolize John F. Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, Lee Kuan Yew, and Mahathir Mohamad.
