Dubai’s Burj Khalifa & Festival City displays Philippine Flag and other Filipino’s pride

A Unique laser show at Dubai Festival City and Burj Khalifa bared the Philippine Flag, Filipino Culture and its popular public figures to celebrate the 121st Independence Day of the Philippines on June 12.

Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was touched after the tallest building in the World, Burj Khalifa showed the Philippine Flag.

Dubai Festival City also made a laser show to dedicate something about Filipino culture.

They showed Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Filipino Boxing Champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao and several things that already been part of the culture of the Philippines.


Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes led the ribbon-cutting in the said event.

Cortes said that they coordinated with the Dubai Festival City to make the event successful.

“This is a joint initiative between the consulate and Dubai Festival City. They are going to customize the show with the history of the Philippines. We coordinated with the Dubai Festival City on the submission of the files, what music to play, photos, and movies to project,” Cortes said.

Meanwhile, leaders of UAE also greet President Rodrigo Duterte on Independence Day.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent two similar greetings to President Duterte.
