President Duterte wants PhilHealth President and board members to resign before 3pm

President Rodrigo Duterte ordered all Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President Roy Ferrer and board members to submit their resignation on Monday before 3 PM.

The information was given by Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go who said that if the said officials of PhilHealth failed to follow the order of the President, they might face more trouble.

“If Philhealth officials don’t want to submit courtesy resignation, they will be terminated,” Go said.

Duterte was also scheduled to meet with several officials of PhilHealth to discuss a serious issue about alleged corruption.

After the meeting, Go said that the President was very disappointed with what’s happening with PhilHealth.

“Gusto ni Pangulo ng clean slate sa pamunuan ng PhilHealth. Kailangan rin maklaro kung paano nakalusot ng napakatagal na panahon ang ganitong anomalya ng fraudulent claims sa pamamalakad ng kasalukuyang mga opisyal. Inutusan ng Pangulo ang NBI na imbestigahan ito sa mabilisang panahon,” Go said.

“Sa ngayon, plantilla officials muna ang temporary na mamamalakad at maa-assign sila under the Office of the President,” he added.

Several days ago, Duterte expressed his disappointment after he found out that PhilHealth is still paying to a dialysis center for already expired patients.

The owner of the dialysis center WellMed was also invited to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters for allegedly being involved in the “ghost dialysis” scheme.

Under the said scheme, the clinic receives payments from PhilHealth for dialysis treatments for deceased patients.

President Duterte also wanted to see the owner of WellMed personally to teach him a lesson.
