Vice President Leni Robredo says that Bikoy should be a witness: “Hindi ba dapat bigyan ng proteksyon para malaman kung totoo o hindi ang sinasabi?”

Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday reacted on the move of the government to hunt the man behind the “Totoong Narco-list” video featuring a hooded-man with an alias of “Bikoy.”

Instead of considering as a destabilizer of the government, Robredo believes that Bikoy should be admitted to a witness protection program to reveal if the allegations against the first family are true.

She also recommended that the government should protect Bikoy because he might know something important about the powerful Dutertes.

“Hindi ba dapat bigyan ng proteksyon para malaman kung totoo o hindi ang sinasabi? Kasi hindi naman natin, wala naman tayong way of knowing kung totoo o hindi… May sinasabi siyang mga bank accounts. Bakit hindi tingnan kung totoo? Kasi ano lang naman eh, madali naman i-check iyon. Kung hindi totoo, eh ‘di gustong sabihin, nagsisinungaling iyong Bikoy,” Robredo said in an chance interview.

Robredo also said that if Bikoy is being hunted by the government, the government should also search for the people publishing fake news about her on social media.

She even said that some of the people publishing false information about her might be receiving a payroll from the government.

“Sana iyong lahat na nag-uupload ng mga fake na news, sana inaaresto rin. Biktima ako since 2016 ng maraming fake news. Pero ang masama nito kasi iyong ibang gumagawa ng fake news, parang, sinusuwelduhan pa ng pamahalaan. Sana pantay iyong pag-treat sa lahat, ‘di ba? Lahat na nagsasabi ng kasinungalingan, eh ‘di arestuhin, panagutin,” she said.

Several months ago, a Youtube user uploaded a series of videos titled “Totoong Narco-List” which accused the Duterte family and senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go of receiving payrolls from illegal businesses.

Yesterday, members of National Bureau of Investigation made a search warrant against Rodel Jayme, who’s allegedly one of the first people who shared the said videos on the internet by using his website Metro Balita.

The Department of Justice clarified that they are still not sure if Jayme and Bikoy are the same person.
