Reward money in exchange of information about Christine Silawan case suspects reaches P1.8-M

The reward money in exchange for the information that could help the authorities in finding the suspect behind the Christine Silawan slay has already reached 1.8-M pesos.

According to the Facebook page of Lapu Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, her City government would provide 1-M pesos reward to help the authorities to trace the culprits who skinned the grade 9 student.

The rest of the reward would be provided by an American retiree based in Leyte (P500k), Police Regional Office (P100k) and  Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (P200k).

There are also unverified reports that the Cebu City government offered another P1.6-M reward.

In an interview with Sunstar, the American netizen Don Davis, who offered P500,000 as a reward in exchange of information about the suspects of Silawan slay said that he was furious after hearing what happened to the 16-year old student.

“To me, what the suspects did was so heinous that I would like to help find every single person responsible,” he said.

According to him, he was willing to deposit the money in the bank to make sure that the reward will be given to the informant after the suspects got convicted.

“I may already go before that happens, but the offer will stay, and the money will be there,” he said.

As of writing, the suspects are still being hunted by the authorities, however, they revealed that they already know the identities of the culprits.

Sr. Supt. Lemuel Obon, chief of the Lapu-Lapu police also ordered his men to ensure that the suspects will be captured alive.

“My instruction to my men is to get them alive as much as possible,” Obon said.
