President Duterte orders investigation on Richard Santillan’s case

Several weeks after the encounter that resulted in the loss of Attorney Glenn Chong’s bodyguard Richard Santillan, President Rodrigo Duterte finally ordered an investigation to catch to the mastermind behind the latter’s alleged ambush.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that President Rodrigo Duterte already ordered to probe Santillan’s case.

However, Duterte reminded that the investigation should be “fair and through.”

Santillan has been accused of being a member of the Hi-way Boys group that was being linked to carnapping.

“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has ordered a fair and thorough investigation of the case until the mastermind are put behind bars,” Panelo said.

“Serious accusations have been made against some members of the CALABARZON Police. Let the chips fall as they may,” he added.

The Palace also assured the netizens that the current administration is also fighting the erring policemen who’re using their authority to do illegal activities.

“As we know by now, PRRD does not condone erring men in uniform who grossly violate the law. Similar to the Batocabe murder case, he certainly has the same commitment of getting justice done for the family, relatives, friends and for all those Mr. Santillan left behind.” Panelo said.

The case of Santillan also made some netizens to question President Duterte’s ability to cleanse the image of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Even PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde received criticisms from Atty. Glenn Chong for allegedly being silent on the case of Santillan.

Aside from Duterte, PNP Chief and now Senatorial candidate Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa also announced that he would help to solve the case of Santillan by talking to some generals.

Meanwhile, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) found that the story of the police about Santillan’s case was not real, saying that they found several pieces of evidence that would prove that the bodyguard has been persecuted by the cops.
